Well done with the Matador fight. It showed good adaptability. Also, you can do the quest that's behind the giant one eye elephant without fighting it. If you're wondering why enemies sometimes go first, that happens when you attack one that's already aggroed onto you. It then compares your team's agility vs the enemy's, plus a little randomization, to see who goes first. The only surefire way to guarantee you go first is to attack them when they're unaware.

Every single enemy's Magatsuhi skill is Omagatoki: Critical, they don't have different skills. The skill you looked at when checking out Matador was his innate skill, not a Magatsuhi skill.

Mothman is pretty cute so I can see him being one to steal the show! I love how ironic it is that it literally yelled at Evan to put him in the party. Its like it was was favoring what Ali was saying by having Mothman in the party! 😂

19:38 You saw in the previous fight against him that his pattern is "Magatsuhi, next turn start with mazan" so you actually don't have to guard with everyone here. Have most everyone attack, and then have one of your humans use a Force Dampener, and that way you nullify his big crit turn (since those crit force attacks don't matter if you're immune to them) without sacrificing everyone's attacks. This is basically the same thing you can do with the Nuwa fight from earlier. She always used Sacrifice of Clay after her magatsuhi, so a force dampener just nullifies her big turn and lets everyone else act. You can buy those things from Gustave. No reason not to use them. He didn't say it out loud, but we all know "fuck it, we ball" went through Evan's head at 22:10.

Matador is a pretty famous boss from a previous SMT game, as many of the others in the comments have alluded to. He’s part of a particularly fearsome group of demons known as the Fiends. Matador’s infamy particularly derives from his signature skill Red Capote, which instantly gives him a huge boost to his Evasion. As you’ve learned yourselves, whiffing even a single attack before you have a chance to finalize your plan for the turn can be deadly in the Press Turn system because it sets you back multiple actions. In his home game, Matador was a very early fight that basically served as a beef gate to make sure people understood the Press Turn system as well as the importance of buffing and debuffing while building teams.

I would like Ali to know that Mothman can also be incredibly vulgar depending on how negotiations go, including insults such as "pretentious little dipshit" and "the dumbass with too many friends". Turbo Granny is a creature from a Japanese urban legend. The legend said that when you are driving too fast, Turbo Granny will appear and will crash your car. She is actually in a side quest mission in the other world (the “real” Tokyo) that you guys have missed. By completing it, you can get her as a special fusion

Yeah! I'm really happy to see you guys start the True Demon quest. Don't feel bad for struggling with Matador. The entire questline is a reference to a previous game where Matador is a major "Wake-up call" boss. This guy has messed most of us up at one point or another.

And so the giant SMT 3 reference is finally started, the fiends are finally here my friends. I believe the next fiend (level 30) should indeed be marked on the map now. EDIT: From where you are now, you should be able to do two more fiend fights before you are all caught up and can start finding them mostly normally.
